The first casino in the nation will be located at Ras Al Khaimah’s Wynn Marjan, according to a story published on Thursday by Arabian Business’ sister publication Hotelier Middle East.
According to Hotelier, Ras Al Khaimah is now creating the casino’s gambling legislation using Singaporean and US laws as models. Additionally, Wynn Marjan is getting ready to launch a casino in the emirate.
According to Wynn Resorts CEO Craig Billings on the company’s Q3 2022 earnings call this week, “We definitely don’t want to underbuild the casino.”
“The casino component is shaping up to be considerably larger than Wynn Las Vegas, but with multiple pockets of vitality and compression,” says the developer. “At least for some time, we will be running on our own, which makes it pretty exciting.”
Billings estimated that the Wynn Marjan casino in Ras Al Khaimah would be roughly 18,500 square meters in size when it first opened in 2026.
The Wynn Las Vegas resort would more than triple in size, making it one of the ten largest casinos in the world, according to Hotelier.
Wynn is reportedly placing a lot of emphasis on the project, with Billings stating that it has “a very high return opportunity for us we expect.” Therefore, our design and development efforts are currently concentrated on that.
According to Al Marjan’s development plans, which Hotelier Middle East was able to get, the area will contain the “Wynn Integrated Resort.”
A new Department of Entertainment and Gaming Regulation has also been established to “consider the social, cultural, and environmental landscape of the emirate and cover licensing, taxation, operational procedures, and consumer safeguards,” according to RAKTDA. The emirate’s tourism development authority has already established a division specifically for regulating integrated resorts.
